How did you match the scene from the photograph to the scene you photographed? Did you control the light, composition, etc?
The photograph I chose was of my mother and I running down a hill in France. I matched the photograph to a hill that I live close to. The hill reminds me of the photograph and the lost memory of being a child with no worries. I attempted to control the light and composition, however, the grass in the photograph is a lot lighter than that of the hill. I did not realize that the recent rains turned the hill from golden to green.
What do you like best about this photo?
I like that this photo embodies freedom and youthful spirit. I like how the hill in the background embodies a continuation of being young and free. I also enjoy this image because there is a mystery to it, I do not remember anything about the time and place of the photograph. I do not even recall how I felt while running down the hill.
What would you do differently if you did this again? What would make it better?
I would include the entire photograph. I thought that by cutting the image it would blend better with the overall image. However, I think if I incorporated the entire photograph the whole image would flow better.
